The building committee has taken a look at the newly renovated hall (church basement) at Incarnate Word. There was a meeting last week to discuss that and other matters. There are, of course, a good number of opinions about what to do and how to do it! After further discussion we will be in touch with our architects again and have them come up with some concrete proposals. Again, other than to finish repairing all of the damage caused by the fire in December 2016, most of this won’t be able to be done until we have at least ½ of the money on deposit with the Archdiocese.

Penance Service: As I mentioned previously the Parish Penance Service for Lent will be on Saint Joseph’s Day, Monday, March 19, at 7:00 P.M. Please plan on attending. Also please know that there are two priests each Saturday afternoon from 3:30 until 4:30 for you to approach for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Mass Attendance: Following my comments last week there were a few more people at the 6:30 A.M. Mass on Monday and Tuesday of this past week. Please prayerfully consider attending Mass on at least one extra day a week during Lent. Stations of the Cross are led by our students on Fridays at 2:10 P.M. Again, this is a traditional “spiritual exercise” during Lent. Try to come and pray the Stations with our school children.

SPRING FORWARD: Don’t forget that next Sunday, March 11th, is the beginning of Daylight Saving Time. So, please remember that before you go to bed Saturday night! Don’t be late!

May we have a faithful and prayerful Lenten season.

Faithfully yours,

Fr Joe Weber
