St. Monica School is not a free school but rather, St. Monica Parish is a stewardship parish and school. All school families are required to pay registration fees. Active Catholic families who live in the parish boundaries and are registered, participating members of St. Monica Parish make an annual stewardship pledge to support the parish through gifts of time, talent and treasure.

To be considered a registered active parishioner in good standing at St. Monica and eligible for the stewardship benefits of a St. Monica School family, the following is required:

  • Must live within the boundaries of St. Monica Parish
  • Active Catholic families are those who participate in Sunday Mass and are supportive of a Catholic way of life
  • Active registered parishioners demonstrate support for parish life by regular and consistent support of St. Monica Parish through the Sunday offering

A family’s stewardship pledge should be made after careful and prayerful consideration of the ways God has blessed your family, the actual cost to educate each child, the number of children in the family attending our school and the family’s genuine ability to make a generous and sacrificial gift.

Stewardship is explained in scripture. It is the way we respond to God’s call to return a share of the many gifts He has bestowed upon us. It is through this return of gifts given that St. Monica is one of the few parishes which continue to use a stewardship approach to funding St. Monica School as the primary means of support for our school. Stewardship requires sacrifice on the part of all St. Monica parishioners. Scriptural references to stewardship speak of giving back to God a tithe of the gifts He has given. A tithe is 10 percent of one’s income, one’s time and one’s talent. Recognizing that many have chosen to support charitable causes in addition to the parish, we suggest that each family consider a gift of at least five percent.

Enclosed with the registration packet is the stewardship form to be returned (if not returned on Stewardship Sunday) indicating a pledge of time and talent and treasure.

Registration will not be accepted unless tuition payments for the current school year are paid in full. Students for each and every class at St. Monica will be accepted for enrollment in the following order:

  1. Children of registered parishioners with siblings already attending St. Monica
  2. Children of registered parishioners
  3. Catholic children of non-parishioners with siblings already attending St. Monica
  4. Catholic children of non-parishioners
  5. Non-Catholic children with siblings already attending St. Monica
  6. Non-Catholic children (Education Commission Policy adopted 08/07/01)

Tuition for the school fiscal year is paid beginning with the month of July 2018 and ending with the month of June 2019. Tuition payments will be paid through an automated service. Details to follow in the near future.

Tuition payment plans include:
• Tuition paid in full by June 1 (qualifies for a 3% discount)
• One-half tuition due by June 1, and one-half due by December 1
• Monthly payments beginning in July and ending the following April through FACTS Tuition Management Program.  There is a $40 annual administrative fee payable to FACTS for this service.  Those paying tuition will be given this FACTS application form.FACTS application forms are available in the school office.

Tuition Refunds:  Families who withdraw students prior to the first day of school will be refunded the entire amount of tuition which has been paid for the current school year.  After the first day of school, tuition refunds will be prorated.

Tuition cannot be in arrears prior to the first day of school. If a family’s account is in arrears prior to the first day of school a payment arrangement must be made to insure the student/s are allowed to attend class. It is the family’s responsibility to communicate the need for ANY payment arrangement to the Parish Coordinator.

Any family who cannot make tuition payment will need to contact the parish office to make appropriate arrangements. The parish can help families in difficult situations. If agreed upon arrangements cannot be reached in a timely fashion, your child/children will not be allowed to attend classes.

If a family’s account remains in arrears or has an unpaid balance; the child/children will not be allowed to attend class or graduate with their class, report cards and grades will be withheld and no transcripts, health records, grades, etc. will be forwarded to any given school until all outstanding balances are paid in full.

**The school principal, secretary, and teacher’s primary focus is on your child/children’s education. To facilitate the integrity of that focus, ALL communication and correspondence regarding tuition payments or individualized payment arrangements should be made directly with the Pastor and Parish Coordinator.
