Funeral Mass for Christopher E. Dalton

Christopher Dalton, age 66, of Saint Louis County, formerly of Cape Cod and Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2020. Christopher was born and raised in St Louis County. Beloved father of Theresa Marie Vehige (David) of O’Fallon, Missouri and Tina Marie Major (Michael) of Moro, Illinois. Dear grandfather of Cody Vehige (Amanda) of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Amber Vehige of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Calvin Major of Moro, Illinois, and step grandfather of Emily and Marissa Major of Moro, Illinois. Dear brother of Mary Reichman of Pocatello, Idaho, Mazie Dalton of St. Louis County, Ann McLellan of Germantown, Tennessee, Edward Dalton of St. Peters, Missouri, Theresa (Terri) Mines of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Joseph Dalton of Rolla, Missouri. Christopher was proceeded in death by his father, Deacon Michael Dalton and mother, Gloria Meyer Dalton, and his brother, Michael Dalton III.

Christopher, a trained mechanic, advanced to be a vehicle maintenance manager of large vehicle fleets for a number of companies over the years. Many of those years were spent working in the beautiful area of Cape Cod and in Boston. He enjoyed entertaining guest over the years and showing them the best of Cape Cod and Boston. He was an avid bicyclist, spending many days biking Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and the Boston area.

Christopher suffered from lung cancer for several years, and finally succumbed to respiratory failure.

Chris had a loving demeanor and was concerned for the well-being of others. He will be missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at St Monica Catholic Church at 10AM on Friday, July 10th. Interment will follow immediately after. Due to Covid 19, there will be no visitation, but the funeral mass will be live-streamed on the St Monica web site. Attendance at the Mass is limited by ordinance to 123 people.
