A Message from the Pastor…………………….

Our first LISTENING SESSION went well—as good as we could expect, for a very sensitive event. A generous volunteer from another parish—who has no role in planning—came to present slides and videos about possible future parish plans, and to lead our crowd to react with each other, and then some open mike time. There were concerns expressed, and some misunderstandings, not surprising given such a complex and long-term project. Our second session comes just after this writing, and I hope it will go equally well.

You may know by now that I look forward to HALLOWEEN. Actually, it’s the time that we have the most visitors to the rectory, and I enjoy the hospitality of it. People of all ages are welcome to see this year’s installation, from 6:00-7:30 P.M.

This week brings the wonderful HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION, NOVEMBER 1, ALL SAINTS DAY, with four Masses to accommodate you. The next evening, November 2, is our annual Mass of Remembrance at 7:00 P.M. for those whose funeral or Mass was celebrated here; and anyone is welcome to come and remember in prayer a deceased loved one.

Finally, our ST. MONICA AUCTION returns! This is always a great event in a parish, and I’m looking forward to my first one here. It’s always a grand evening, and it provides important support for our parish and school. The bulletin says how to sign up to attend, and you can even participate in the Silent Auction from home.
