May our Lord Jesus Christ bless and comfort you during this time of grief.

Rohan, Gerald “Jerry” Steven, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection, Monday, June 22, 2020.

Jerry will be remembered as the beloved husband of 61 years to Melba (nee McBride); dear father of Kimberly (Gary) Alles, Jerry (Sheila) Rohan and Diane Rohan; grandfather of Chelsie (Chris) Stygar, Steven Rohan, and Taylor Rohan; and great grandfather of Remington and Ryan. Preceded in death by his parents, the late Steven and Mary (Schmid), Jerry was the oldest of ten children and much adored brother to Jim Rohan, the late Marian (Red) Hutson, the late Judy (Sonny) Hutson, the late Joan (Dean) Shillito, Nancy (Mike) VandeVen, Sue (Bob) Kirchhoefer, the late Steve (Cindy) Rohan, Kathy (Tom) Shasserre, and Fred (Kathy) Rohan. Jerry was also a brother-in-law, uncle, and cousin, as well as a friend to many.

Jerry was very involved in The American Legion Post 208, where he held the positions of Commander, Adjutant, Service Officer, Historian and Sergeant-at-Arms. He also enjoyed many other activities throughout his life, one of which was spending time at the Rohan family farm in Beaufort, Missouri. BBQ was often found slow cooking on the pit, the catfish were always biting, and another round of clay birds were waiting to be shot. Jerry served as Pit Master at the farm, where the ribs and pork steaks would often feed well over 100 people. These BBQs are fondly remembered by many as the best in all the land.

In addition to the BBQ grill, Jerry was also no slouch in the kitchen. He made some of the most amazing dishes including his signature Caesar salad, which was truly a knock out, as well as the best Eggs Benedict, a special treat enjoyed on Christmas mornings, if you were lucky enough to be invited.

Jerry was an avid golfer, bowler, and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, loved the holidays, especially Christmas, Fourth of July and Halloween, and often served as the family’s videographer at many events, capturing family memories on his camera to be enjoyed by all. He was also a big dog lover and was particularly fond of German Shepherds.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife and children, family and friends, but they find comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into Heaven by his family and friends who have gone before, and have been patiently waiting to see him again. There’s certainly going to be one heck of a card game going on!
